Bahamas Climate Platform: Guiding Transparency in Climate Change Solutions

AREAS OF FOCUS

What We Advocate For

The Bahamas is a low-lying archipelago made up of more than 700 islands and cays. Being a Small Island Developing State (SIDS) located at the north-eastern corner of the Caribbean, an area particularly vulnerable to hurricanes and sea-level increase. The Bahamas is therefore one of the most vulnerable countries in the world to the impacts of climate change, such as increased temperatures, sea-level rise, increased storm surges (which has implications on freshwater resources and biological diversity), ocean acidification and increased frequency and intensity of hurricanes.

Greenhouse Gases

Greenhouse gas emission and removal estimates are divided into main sectors, which are groupings of related processes, sources and sinks.
